Comparison

Guava vs Papaya

Guava and Papaya share a tropical-fruit name and, on the Leafly pages we opened, the same three flavor tags (apricot, tree fruit, tropical), but no family: Papaya is Nirvana Seeds’ Citral #13 × Ice #2, an indica-dominant hybrid Leafly rates mostly calming, while Leafly’s Guava is a sativa-leaning Gelato phenotype rated mostly energizing.1,2 The link runs through a namesake: Strawberry Guava is Oni Seed Co.’s Strawberry Banana × Papaya.3,4 Guava tests higher in state labs: 23.52% median THC from only 92 tests, a small sample, against 21.70% for Papaya.5

Strawberry Guava, the Papaya cross

Strawberry Guava is a different strain from Guava: Leafly and Weedmaps list it as Strawberry Banana × Papaya from Oni Seed Co., and Weedmaps says it became popular with hash makers for its heavy resin.3,4 Our lab matching kept 40 results labelled Strawberry Guava out of Guava’s count.5 Papaya has its own guide in the Official Cannabis network at papayastrain.com, and its cross Papaya Punch at papayapunch.com.1
