Growing Guava: flowering time, yield and breeder specs

Seeds sold as Guava flower in about 63 days (Flavour Chasers) to 8–10 weeks (Weedmaps; Bean Addicts’ listing on SeedFinder), and the listings say they can be grown indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse. Which Guava you get depends on the seller: Flavour Chasers’ line is Stardawg × Afghani, while Bean Addicts’ descends from the Cookies Fam’s Gelato phenotype.1,2,3,4

Seed-company figures are the sellers’ own claims; SeedFinder lists what breeders publish. None of these sources rates growing difficulty.

What the plant is like

Descriptions agree on resin. AllBud describes heart-shaped olive-green buds with thick bright orange hairs and a coat of tiny frosty white trichomes; Weedmaps calls Flavour Chasers’ version trichome-heavy and high-yielding, with crystal-covered buds; and Bean Addicts’ listing describes medium-sized plants with good branching and dense, resin-covered flowers.2,3,7 Top Dawg Seeds called its Guava phenotype “not super strong” but a plant that “yields well” and does well commercially.6

What to watch for

Check which Guava a seed pack contains. The same name covers Flavour Chasers’ Stardawg × Afghani, which it calls indica-dominant, and lines from the Cookies Fam’s Gelato phenotype, which SeedFinder lists as mostly sativa, and the published flowering times differ from about 63 days to 10 weeks.1,2,3,4 Seeds sold as Strawberry Guava, Guava Cake or Guava Gelato are other strains altogether (see genetics).8,9,10

Seeds and the law in the US

Under the amended federal definition of hemp, viable seeds from cannabis plants above 0.3% total THC, including THCA, are not hemp.11 Congress delayed that exclusion, with most of the new definition, from Nov 12 to Dec 11, 2026; only the exclusion of products with cannabinoids the plant cannot produce naturally starts on Nov 12.11,12 Home cultivation rules are set by each state. This site does not sell seeds.
